The Story... Free Surf Camps for Kids was founded by lifelong friends Mike Polvere, Harry Donner, and Jennifer Fantis. After decades in the water and deep roots in Florida’s surfing community, they came together to build a youth surf program focused on confidence, ocean awareness, and opportunity. Mike Polvere has been a respected leader in the local surfing community for decades. As a skilled surfboard shaper and longtime advocate for the sport, Mike has always been known as someone willing to help others whether that meant taking time to talk story with young surfers or fixing a damaged board so they could get back in the water. His dedication to the surfing lifestyle and community has even been recognized with a featured centerfold appearance in Surfing Magazine. Harry also brings a lifetime connection to the sport. Over the years he has worked alongside legendary surfboard shapers and has represented more than 14 Surfing Hall of Fame shapers, helping promote the craft and culture of surfing. Together, Mike and Harry share a passion for passing their knowledge and experience on to the next generation. Jennifer, who helps oversee the program’s administration and operations, was born and raised in Florida and comes from a family with deep maritime roots. Her family includes renowned sailors and sailboat builders, with Florida heritage that traces back to the 1800s, a true Florida “cracker” lineage tied closely to the state’s coastal culture and traditions. Jennifer also brings extensive experience in accounting and business management, having worked with CPA firms and served in controller and accounting management roles for a variety of businesses. Her experience helps ensure the organization remains organized, transparent, and positioned to grow. Together, their combined experience in surfing, business, and Florida’s coastal heritage forms the foundation of Free Surf Camps for Kids. The Vision... is to develop a locally supported surf program on Florida’s Space and Treasure Coast, built through partnerships with local businesses, volunteers, and the community. Their goal is simple: Get kids in the water. Build confidence. Create memories that last. Free Surf Camps for Kids exists to give children, especially those who might not otherwise have the opportunity the chance to experience the ocean, learn to surf, and discover the confidence that comes from catching their very first wave. 🌊
